Because your resume is typically your first contact with potential employers, it must be up to date, well-organized and error-free in order to establish an excellent first impression. Our online advisors are eager to provide advice to Distance Minnesota students for polishing and improving your existing resume!
Please note: We cannot create or develop a resume for you. We will, however, be more than happy to assist with organizing content, checking for mechanical and grammatical errors, and ensuring that content is clear and concise.
To get started, you will need an electronic copy of your most recently completed resume. We encourage you to explore ISEEK, GPS LifePlan, CareerOneStop or MyMilitary GPS LifePlan (for veterans and service members) for tips and templates to assist you in creating a stronger resume.
Once you have reviewed and utilized the resources listed above where appropriate, submit your resume for review by an online advisor:
- Be sure your resume is saved as a .doc or .docx file
- Attach your resume in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Use the subject line “Resume Review Request”
An online advisor will review your resume, provide feedback in the sidebar of the document and send it back to you via email within 48 hours of submission. If you would like to discuss your resume or suggestions made by an advisor, please provide a phone number or Skype username in your request email, along with an appropriate time to contact you.
